Today, Syrian Electronic Army hacked various social media accounts of CNN. The group hacked CNN's Twitter, Facebook accounts and also their wordpress blogs. SEA, sent out a welcome tweet that said:
“Syrian Electronic Army was here … stop lying … all your reports are
fake!”
In other tweet, Syrian Electronic Army called Obama as "Lord of terror", also accused CIA about having connections to al Qaeda and the terrorism in Syria .
CNN’s main Facebook account and its CNN Politics page were compromised too, along with its Twitter account, also the blogs for Political Ticker, The Lead, Security Clearance, The Situation Room and Crossfire were compromised reportedly.
According to a blog post a member of the Syrian Electronic Army, “Th3Pr0″ confirmed how they were able to hack CNN by compromising HotSuite Accounts of CNN also some email id's which helped them to gain access to CNN’s WordPress blog.
CNN later sent out a tweet saying that its social media accounts were compromised but it had managed to bring the situation under control.
Some of our organization’s social media accounts were compromised. We have secured those accounts and deleted unauthorized tweets.
